With the chilly winter months in full swing, the last thing you want to deal with is your heater putting out cold air instead of warm air. When this happens, you’ll need to look for professional auto heating repair. Why does this happen?
Sometimes, the problem is the layout. Coolant cycles through the engine and helps to move the heat exchange outside. A smaller unit then exchanges the air that is taking the hot air and moving them through the cabin so that it keeps you warm when the heat is on. When it stops working, there are two different reasons.
One reason is that the engine temperature is too low. When an engine is cold, the air coolant becomes restricted so that it begins to rise. Until the thermostat reaches a certain temperature, this will prevent hot air from coming in. However, as the thermostat wears out, it can prevent the switch from taking place and the hot air never reaches the cabin. That will mean you need to have auto heating system repair done.
In cases where the thermostat is new and there are no problems, goop buildup could be blocking the flow. This is a combination of soot and grime that has built up during the changes of the coolant, collecting in the heater core. When this is the case, a system flush will be needed to help remove the buildup.
